Phi Phi Island. Thailand
The Phi Phi archipelago, consisting of two major islands and four smaller islets, is ranked as one of the best places in the world to spend summer holidays in.
Phi Phi is the only permanently inhabited island in the archipelago. People from all over the globe flock to the island to enjoy the sunshine, laze on one of the local beaches covered with pillow soft sand and swim in the crystal clear sea. Here you can indulge in water activities such as diving or snorkelling, explore the palm forests or sample exotic dishes such as swallows nest soup.
Some say it’s too dangerous to stay at Phi Phi, since an underwater disturbance in the area may result in a tsunami. In fact, the Royal Thai government does everything in its power to ensure the safety of tourists visiting the area, so you may relax and enjoy your time on Phi Phi – there is nothing to be afraid of!
